This is a key role as you will be part of a member’s journey out of homelessness. We aim to achieve stability in the person’s situation and work towards long lasting and sustainable change, using coaching principles and methodology.
Contract: 12-month fixed term contract
Hours: x2 vacancies 21 hours per week (part-time) OR x1 35 hours per week (full-time)

About the role
As a Housing and Homelessness Practitioner, you will be part of the coaching team to help motivate members with varying levels of engagement within the Skylight; some practice will be planned and structured with others more complex and requiring a multi-agency response.
The key to success will be your ability to integrate with the client services teams on a day-to-day basis; to make collaborative, consistent and psychologically informed relationships with colleagues and members.
About you
As part of the Lead Worker team you have a real opportunity to demonstrate your empathy for people experiencing homelessness. Sometimes members are distressed by their situation and this role would suit someone who is resilient, tenacious, compassionate, and creative. You will work as part of a busy team in a fast-paced environment and an ability to communicate effectively and prioritise competing demands are essential.
You will have experience in homelessness (directly or within a relevant sector) and have demonstratable skills in understanding homelessness legislation and advocating on behalf of people. We know that there are many factors that play a significant part in someone's homelessness including issues with health and wellbeing, financial security, social networks etc. Experience of offering support in these areas is essential and transferable skills welcome.
You will have a track record of working with partner agencies, developing, maintaining strong working relationships, and collaborating to achieve the best outcomes for members.
You will be interested in evolving your skills and playing an active role as we continue to develop our service and coaching principles further.
You will need to align with our organisational values that hold us accountable in assisting our members to improve and relieve their homelessness and demonstrate this through your work and behaviours.

About the role
We are recruiting for shop supervisor to join our Islington shop. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness.
As shop supervisor, you will support the shop manager and assistant shop manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. This is a new role for Emmaus Bristol. Through our five-year-planning process we identified a new staffing

About the Role
- Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantages.
- The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
- You will be responsible for providing support to all the residents as needed during the evening and night, including running co-designed activities, and responding appropriately to requests and incidents.
- The successful applicant must be able to model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, be skilled at building trust and be a great team player. You must be confident working as the sole support worker on site and have good judgement in managing incidents.
- This is a waking night support role, undertaking 12 hour shifts alongside concierge, 8pm to 8am every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.
- The post is open to female applicants only as the role is deemed to be a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

About the role
As Crisis’ Media and Artist Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health. You’ll also identify, build and nurture relationships with artists and influencers to secure their support for Crisis and our work, whether that be political campaigning, fundraising or our commercial and retail offering.
Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. You’ll help create hard-hitting news stories and media hooks that engages our audiences and raises awareness of Crisis’ work. You’ll also work with our Artist Liaison Manager to utilise our high-profile supporters and ambassadors to inspire and raise awareness of our cause with key audiences and develop creative and engaging ways to amplify our media campaigns on social media. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build strong relationships with key journalists.

About the Role
- Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
- The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
- In this role, you will provide support to all the women, including running co-designed activities and accompanying women to appointments. You will work closely with Specialist Support Workers who manage individual resident support and safety plans.
- You will model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, will be skilled at building trust and you will be a great team player.
- The post holder will undertake 8-hour shifts on a 7-day rota, covering the hours 8am to 8pm. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.
Salary: £28,377

Based at the 999 club in Deptford, a safe and welcoming space for those experiencing homelessness Move+ is the latest of the 999 club’s service offerings which also include a drop-in day centre, employment & training support, advocacy & advice, a women’s space and the Bridge, our evening service for people in mental health crisis.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge service within the sector. The overall aim of Move+ is to enable people who have been homeless to draw upon their shared experiences and support one another to escape homelessness for good. Move+ empowers people to live independently, to set up and maintain a stable home, while working towards long-term goals and aspirations enabling them to move forwards with their lives. This is achieved through a combination of peer coaching, personalised support and an exclusive program of workshops and activities.
Working closely with the Coproduction Manager as part of the Specialist Services team, you will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day delivery of Move+. This includes line management of a team of Peer Coaches, focusing on support, personal and professional development. You will conduct assessments and manage referrals, build and maintain relationships, as well as promote the service, both internally and externally. This unique and innovative social care trial will examine the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of a Peer Navigator/peer support intervention for people experiencing homelessness and problems with substance use. We are now looking for a Peer Navigator (lived experience practitioner) within our Homelessness service to deliver a relationship-based intervention to those experiencing drug and alcohol problems and homelessness, providing both practical and emotional support.

About The Team
Shelter Sheffield provide housing advice and support to people across the city with a focus on emergency homelessness, intensive support for children and families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people with multiple and complex needs. We take a holistic approach to help people deal with interrelated issues that can impact their ability to keep a home.
About the role
You will be working under our Legal Aid contract, delivering legal advice and representing tenants at Doncaster and Sheffield courts under the Housing Loss Prevention Advice Scheme. Delivering systemic change through legal challenge to prevent homeless will also be a key part of the role.
About You
Qualified as a Solicitor, you will have a strong knowledge of housing law and be used to managing your own caseload. If you meet the Supervisor status for legal aid purposes that would be preferable but isn’t essential, as is experience of working under a legal aid contract.
