· Degree or equivalent (with a project management and/or a qualification relevant to NZC being desirable).

To assist us in this endeavour, we are looking for an experienced full-time Welfare and Benefits Information Lead.  You will assist clients in claiming welfare benefits, grants, and any financial aid that may be available to them. This includes informing them of any financial help available, supporting them with applications and following up on claim as necessary.  Where anyone has been given an end of life diagnosis you will be required to start the application on their behalf. In addition, you will also conduct financial wellbeing assessments in the community and schedule one-on-one application completion consultations with individuals who request your assistance.

This vital role will suit an enthusiastic and dynamic person who has excellent communication skills, being able to deal with complex matters effectively both verbally and in writing.  You will need to understand the issues involved in interviewing people within a time defined period. Your role

As Assistant Shop Manager, it is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Shop Manager in Surbiton's brand new Scope shop (Victoria Road, Surbiton, KT6 4NS). The shop will be opening mid 2024.  You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.

About you

You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. You will also demonstrate an appreciation of Scope’s values and ambition of achieving Everyday Equality for disabled people.

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Customer Service Manager will be integral to the implementation, training, monitoring, and improvement of the new 5 Star Customer Service model being rolled out across all services within Enable – including but not limited to events, leisure facilities, an arts school, bereavement services, filming, health & wellbeing, parks and community development. The role will work closely with both Senior Management and operational staff to ensure that 5 Star Customer Service is at the heart of all interactions with our customers.

Someone with exquisite attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills to work alongside a wide variety of services and staff. Someone who is excited by day-to-day variety and thrives in an ever-changing environment. Someone who enjoys bringing a vision to life and is tenacious with each step to get there. Ideally someone who has read Unreasonable Hospitality and was inspired. 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and analyse customer feedback and data to identify areas for improvement
• Further develop and implement the 5-Star Customer Service strategy to improve customer interactions across multiple touchpoints and channels 
• Design business-wide customer service processes, best practices, and KPIs to ensure consistent and exceptional service delivery across all Enable teams
• Develop and roll-out relevant training models
• Collaborate with all internal teams to align customer experience efforts with greater business goals and objectives 
• Collaborate with marketing to improve digital customer service 
• Monitor success and champion opportunities to consistently improve the brand experience 
• Visit all services within Enable to assist with research, process implementation and relationship forming

The successful candidate will have: 

• 5+ years of experience in customer service, experience or management, preferably in a hospitality or Not-For-Profit background
• Initiative and motivation to work autonomously and drive change within the business
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders 
• Confidence and creativity to bring new ideas to the table
• A hunger for exceptional customer service, and the tenacity to create the change needed to achieve it 
• Experience in motivating staff 
• A flexible approach to working onsite in a variety of different environments 
• Empathy, patience and approachability
