The Role

Key responsibilities:

To be responsible for the effective delivery of services in the communities we serve.

• Manage all aspects of operational performance of the services in line with KPI expectations.
• Accountable for the leadership, line management responsibility and operational direction of the service delivery teams.
• Take financial responsibility for the service delivery budgets through annual budget setting, monthly reviewing, and quarterly reforecasting. 
• Continually develop and review operational KPIs to ensure they drive performance and align with our strategic ambitions. ­­­
• Ensure the customer experience is measured, monitored and delivered with the expected values and behaviors across all teams.

To effectively lead, collaborate and influence to contribute to the success of Robin Cancer Trust and its people.

• Engage the teams with the vision, purpose, and strategic objectives of Robin Cancer Trust.
• Contribute to the development of strategy, business planning and prioritisation activities.
• Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team and deputise for the CEO as needed.
• Attend and contribute to monthly board meetings.

• Experience of working as part of a senior leadership or strategy team.

As our Training Coordinator you predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers and Support Officer in the effective planning and delivery of wheelchair skills training to meet the strategic objectives. You will work directly with young people and their families, schools, colleagues, partner organisations and professionals, delivering accredited training across the UK.

The person

You will be part of the Young People’s Services Team who provide a range of services and activities for young wheelchair users and their families. You will have a friendly and professional approach to working with families and professionals and be highly organised to manage planning, delivery and relevant paperwork for all wheelchair skills services. To join us you will need: 

 Skills and knowledge

• Understanding and familiarity of good practice and law around child protection, disability discrimination and equal opportunities legislation, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection.

• The ability to teach and demonstrate wheelchair skills, using a wheelchair.

• Excellent organisational and planning skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

• Ability to motivate children and young people of all ages.

• The ability to deliver training using coaching/teaching skills.

Experience

• Experience of working directly with disabled children, young people and their families.

• Lived experience of being a wheelchair user and/or experience of delivering wheelchair skills training is preferable.

• Demonstratable experience of delivering training, teaching or coaching.

• Youth work experience.

• Experience of risk management procedures.

Personal qualities

Someone who can proactively generate new and repeat business, and enjoys networking and building relationships with both corporate sponsors and high net worth donors.

This is a permanent part-time, and yet flexible role, for 3 days a week. We’ll explore the exact hours and timing with you and together find what works.

Your work with us will raise awareness about the climate crisis and the importance of sustainability in the business world in order to create a liveable future. You’ll help us restore wildlife and marine habitats, improve livelihoods in rural communities, protect against deforestation, alleviate climate anxiety in our young and of course help tackle climate change head on.

About you:

• A self-starter, someone who takes initiative and has boundless energy to get out there and help us grow.
• You’re great at getting brands and high-value donors on board with causes like ours, and an instinct for how to communicate and build starter brands like us.

• Confident speaking with senior stakeholders and decision makers from large and high-profile organisations.

What’s in it for you

Working remotely – Like to work from home? No worries, our team is spread out all around the world. However, for this role we are seeking someone who lives in the UK and a commutable distance to London for team meet-ups, client meetings and attending events.

Basic Salary £40k-£42k pro rata (based on experience), plus commission.
