The Programme Officer role will report to the Programme Manager and sit within the Programmes Team.

The Programme Officer will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a number of our services.  You will have a clear focus of delivering high quality programmes that are run smoothly, efficiently, within budget and achieve the desired outcomes and objectives for both the partners and the young people.

You will support others within your team to deliver high quality programmes from programme initiation through to evaluation that will directly contribute to the company's growth strategy and impact.

The Programme Officer will also be a key member of the department and contribute to systems and maximising efficiency, delivering programme coordination to an excellent standard that produces high impact for our young people and partners.

In this role, you will work closely with our Youth Ambassadors, Facilitator Team and Digital Communications and Marketing team.

Charity People are recruiting a temporary Office & Operations Manager to join a fantastic small charity based in Ilford, who strive to help improve local communities in a number of ways. This charity has recently rebranded and is going through a period of growth, which has been very positive and has proven to be an exciting time, particularly to join the organisation.

They require an experienced Operations Manager, with strong Office Management skills to join them in May to take a lead in looking after the operational side of the charity and hold the fort, and ensure the charity is running smoothly. This is an integral role for the charity, and will entail working across the charity, with all teams. Typical day to day duties will include general administration, health and safety in the workplace, archiving, ensuring the teams have office supplies, support on any governance, liaising with trustees, pulling reports, and managing the HR system ensuring the administration is up to date, and being involved in any recruitment and onboarding.

You will bring knowledge and experience of improving processes, working on a HR system, Excel, management of new suppliers and contract management. This will be a varied role and requires the successful candidate to join their colleagues in the office a few days per week to ensure you are being able to achieve what is required in the role, in terms of the smooth running of the organisation. You will be a self-starter, independent, who has brilliant verbal and written communication skills.

Who you are

Your day-to-day

You will support the execution of CDPs philanthropic fundraising strategy. 

You will manage a portfolio of strategic, high-value donors, building strong relationships and implementing creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income.

You will research, develop and secure funding from new donors, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give 7-8 figure grants. 

You will develop an excellent knowledge of CDP’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor. 

You will build excellent external working relationships at all levels with donors, their staff and networks in order to directly influence their decisions.

You will build excellent internal working relationships to engage staff at all levels in supporting donor stewardship to manage prospective and existing donors effectively.

Job Description

The IRC UK’s Finance Team seeks to achieve excellence in financial management by providing accurate and timely financial information to IRC management and programs and by adhering to established financial practices and accounting principles. We do this by supporting the UK office; by implementing and monitoring IRC and donor policies and procedures; leading financial forecasting and planning, proactive risk management; consolidating financial results; and ensuring reliable financial reporting (internal and external).

The Finance Assistant – Operations assists the UK Finance team in delivering its objectives and providing effective support to IRC UK. Major Responsibilities

•Check and prepare invoice journals for all direct debits and ensure supporting invoices and approval are filed.

JOB TITLE: Operations Manager

SALARY: £27,000 - £30,000 / year,  FTE

LOCATION: Remote

FT / PT: Part Time

HOURS: Approx 16 hours per week.  The hours will be flexible and may include evenings and weekends.

ANNUAL LEAVE: 25 days pro rata

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will develop and implement operational policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.

• You will monitor and evaluate the operational performance of the organisation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

• You will manage the operational activity of our Big Green Heart experience days, supporting the CEO in the delivery of them. 

• You will work closely with our partner organisations who are using the Big Green Heart model, ensuring that the high standards and values of our teaching are maintained.

• You will also work with the Big Green Heart team to onboard new partner organisations. You will work with them to understand their needs and secure buy-in. 

• You will collaborate with the trustees, who also contribute to tasks linked with Big Green Heart's development. 

• You will manage the budgeting and financial planning processes, working closely with the Treasurer.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS

• At least two years experience in operations management, preferably within the charity sector. 

• A self motivated individual, capable of independent working.

• Ability to translate vision into a working practice. 

• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

• Familiarity with budgeting and financial management processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the Big Green Heart.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience of working in a start-up environment, supporting the operational needs of a fledgling organisation. 

• Familiarity with using KNACK database.
