Driven by a team of dedicated doctors, Al Basar International Foundation emerged in response to the startling fact that 253 million people suffer from blindness or visual impairment, 80% of which is preventable or treatable. Established in 1989 with its first medical campaign in Pakistan, the Foundation pioneered specialist eye care in underserved areas.
Expanding its reach, Al Basar International Foundation UK was formed in 2005, reinforcing our commitment to combating preventable sight loss in 46 countries. As a leading charity, Al Basar envisions a world free from preventable blindness, offering accessible and sustainable eye care. Our mission is to foster significant, lasting change in communities worldwide.
