Essential

· Passion for animals and enthusiasm for improving their lives, with evidence to support this.

As a Support worker with The Hope Foundation, your primary responsibility will be providing ongoing support to our tenants and service users, while working with them through support plans and growth plans, towards independent living. 

The post-holder will: 

1. Provide support to tenants in line with project aims and goals, including but not limited to providing mentoring, advice, support plans, employment training, property searches, admin support and assistance with tenancy sustainability.

2. Work collaboratively with other projects of The Hope Foundation to achieve organisational goals. 

3. Oversee project volunteers, manage rotas, and provide project updates to partners. 

4. Assist with project and organisational administration. 

5. Work collaboratively with partner organisations to source additional support options, training opportunities, and tenant referrals. 

6. Be a port of call for tenants regarding property maintenance queries and issues. 

7. Provide support to clients accessing other charity services for support and advice. 

8. Treat clients with the respect they deserve and support all people without judgement or discrimination.

Duties and Responsibilities

(1) Client Support  

• Working with tenants through their individual development plans. 

• Provide encouragement, advice, and support to tenants. 

• Assist tenants with housing benefit applications, job searches and training.

• Liaise with agencies on behalf of tenants.

• Assist tenants with tenancy maintenance and basic life skills support. 

• Work with individuals seeking support through The Community Hope Project.

(2) Property Maintenance  

• Organise maintenance work within The Hope Foundation properties.

• Provide tenants with assistance in operating equipment and information regarding Health and Safety.

• Report any property or furniture damage/issues. 

(3) Administration  

• Keep tenant development plans, pen portraits, logs, and personal information up to date.

• Provide general admin support to organisation

Inter Mediate is one of the world’s leading independent conflict resolution organisations. Operating out of London, it works in conflict zones around the world to support peace negotiations and advise on strategies to stop and prevent wars. This is an exciting opportunity to join its small, expert projects team as a Project Development Officer, supporting Inter Mediate’s Project Directors to advance peace negotiations with a special focus on conflicts in the Middle East and Africa.  

 Role summary

The Project Development Officer (PDO) will work within the Inter Mediate Projects Team under the guidance of the Projects Directors and coordination with the Deputy CEO, Operations Team and CEO, to:

• Support and implement Inter Mediate’s existing projects portfolio supporting peace talks and other high-level peace initiatives.
• Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders in conflict and peace processes, mainly in Africa and the Middle East
• Identify and develop entry points for new projects.
• Monitor and analyse political developments across areas relevant to Inter Mediate’s work.
• Research lessons from past peace efforts relevant to Inter Mediate’s current work.
• Support the Operations Team and Project Directors to prepare project proposals and budgets, narrative and financial reporting, and collect evidence of project impact.

Specific responsibilities:

•  Contribute to strategies to deliver Inter Mediate projects and institutional priorities.
• Support the Project Directors to cultivate and maintain relationships with key interlocutors and relevant experts in the field.
• Undertake travel, including to conflict settings.
• Draft high quality policy memos, speeches and concept notes for senior audiences.
• Provide logistical support for project delivery, including managing travel of project teams, interlocutors and consultants.
• Monitor media, think tanks and other analysis centres on conflict dynamics, and produce briefings and analytic papers for the CEO ahead of travel or engagement with key interlocutors.
• Oversee production of research papers on peacemaking lessons, based on demand from interlocutors.
• Scope for potential new projects and develop new project feasibility studies.
• Support the Project Directors and Operations Team in donor management and project accountability, including contributing to preparation of project proposals and budgets, and reporting in line with donor requirements.
• Compile project progress reports for senior management/trustees’ meetings.
• Represent IM in external contexts where necessary.
• Undertake other tasks in support of IM’s work overall as required.

Experience, qualifications and skills:

 Successful candidates would need to demonstrate:

• A masters degree in politics, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, international affairs, public policy or an equivalent subject. Relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu.
• Three years of work experience in conflict resolution or peace process support for a governmental, non-governmental or inter-governmental organisation, or an equivalent field such as diplomacy, humanitarian access, political risk advisory services, conflict journalism or conflict analysis. Experience relevant to West Africa and Middle East preferred.
• Excellent written English, and evidence of ability to produce high-quality written work to deadline.
• A strong understanding of political and conflict dynamics – particularly Africa and the Middle East - and the ability to produce well-structured and concise analysis
• Ability to operate successfully in high pressure, sensitive political environments and support high-level individuals
• Experience of work and travel in conflict-affected areas, and willingness to travel independently, with support from the Project Directors.
• Evidence of strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to support the smooth running of a small team, and willingness to take an “all hands on deck” approach when required.
• Fluency in French and/or Arabic or other languages (desirable)

You will play a key role in securing nature’s recovery across the two counties and beyond. Our recent campaign, such as our joint Tipner West Campaign with the RSPB successfully mobilised over 30,000 people to take action to oppose a development on legally protected habitats. We are soon launching an advocacy campaign to get legal protections in local and national policy for all our iconic chalk streams.

This is an exciting time for nature policy locally and nationally and you will be working to shape policy and how it is delivered on the ground, for example working on the Local Nature Recovery Strategies and driving councils to integrate the Strategy into their plans, policies and delivery.

Simon Community NI is looking for a dynamic and experienced public affairs professional to lead our policy and public affairs activity. You will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of influencing for change and an ambition to make a difference.

Job Purpose: Simon Community’s Public Affairs & Policy Manager will lead our efforts in advocating for policies and initiatives that end homelessness across NI. Salary: £49,500 per annum with generous benefits including 25 days annual holiday plus public holidays, enhanced pension contribution, private medical health insurance, life assurance and flexible/hybrid working.

Hours: 35 per week over 5 days. 

Contract type: This is a full time, permanent role. 

Location: Hybrid working with options for flexibility to work from home - the postholder will be expected to work from our central London office regularly, 2-3 days per week. 

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Campaigns, and working closely with your fellow Campaigns Managers and the wider campaigns team and legal teams, we are looking for someone to design, develop and run impactful and engaging legal campaigns at Good Law Project. 

This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a passion for the work of Good Law Project who wants to use their campaigning background to help increase our impact, our income and our supporter growth and engagement throughout our legal campaigns. We have ambitious goals and are looking for somebody who brings determination, and the ability to design and deliver legal campaigns in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The role will require enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to think creatively and strategically. 

We recognise that experience and skills can be gained in a variety of ways including through your lived experience, personal life and interests as well as professional career experience. What We Do

• Good Law Project is a not-for-profit campaign organisation which uses the law to hold power to account, protect the environment and ensure no one is left behind.

• We had a primary role in overturning the prorogation of Parliament in 2019. We successfully challenged the Government’s operation of a fast track ‘VIP lane’ for awarding lucrative PPE contracts to those with political connections and our campaigning played a key role in the Met Police opening an investigation into Boris  Johnson over the Partygate scandal. In July 2023, we forced the Government to accept that its flagship Net Zero strategy is unlawful and to develop a better plan.

Role Summary

We are looking for a confident and experienced self-starter to join the Strategy & Communications division as the Government & Parliamentary Relations Manager. Your role is essential to ensure:

• Our relationships generate national and local engagement that helps us to advocate about the issues and practice that can enable high-quality careers support for young people across policy debate and delivery.
• We raise awareness of our work to the extent that our Government and parliamentary stakeholders can articulate what we do and why it matters nationally as well as locally in constituencies across the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the Department of Education (DfE) (our sponsor department) to help us build strong relationships with relevant DfE ministers, officials and their teams.
• Engaging and building policy-led relationships across wider Government – to enable cross-departmental engagement about CEC’s work.
• Building and maintaining cross-parliamentary support – to increase our awareness and support amongst key MPs and Peers and to respond well to their inquiries and commissions.
• Internal team operations – acting as CEC’s lead for internal government and parliamentary briefing to support the CEO and senior colleagues’ visits, meetings and engagements.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience of engaging through the policy process – (1) developing policy ideas and (2) responding to consultations and briefing requests.
• Proven ability to engage senior and working level stakeholders and manage political, ministerial and departmental sensitivities.
• Communicate well (written and verbal) – confidently and with salience and the ability to not just report moments but offer context and direction. Competent and assured in providing sound counsel to senior colleagues.
• Analytical skills – you will be engaging data and evidence generated from CEC’s work and externally, and will be required to interpret findings and make and communicate connections in an understandable and interesting way.
• Collaborative and good at building relationships at all levels, both internally and with a range of external stakeholders.
• Adaptable, resilient and flexible with the ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity and work at pace.

About the role

At a time of growth and of new opportunities for the Motability Foundation, we are looking for a Public Affairs Manager to join our Communications Team and lead our Public Affairs activity for the organisation.

Our vision is to fund, support, research, and innovate, so all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. There are an estimated 16 million disabled people in the UK, and this role will play a crucial part in our work to raise awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation, amplify the voices of disabled people and to influence policy.

·This new role will work alongside our new Evidence and Policy Manager, based in our Innovation team, and other colleagues across the organization as well as key partners (Motability Operations), to manage our horizon scanning and monitoring of the political landscape, leading on advising our Governors, CEO and senior management team on actions we need to take, and preparing detailed briefings for engagements, and events with Parliamentarians and senior Ministers. The role holder will develop, implement and lead our Public Affairs and Government Engagement Plan, and proactively identify and develop opportunities to influence and shape policy where it may have a positive impact for disabled people.

With a General Election and potential welfare reform on the horizon, this role is especially important and experience in creating and implementing post-election public affairs strategies, leading activities across the team and devising and managing structured results reporting to the organisation, is highly desirable.

What you will be doing

• Develop, implement and manage our public affairs strategy, leading on public affairs activities aligned with the Motability Foundation’s vision and overall strategy.
• Amplify the Motability Foundation’s voice in Parliament, across the devolved nations, and in political spheres, building, developing and managing relationships with parliamentarians, decision-makers and stakeholders.
• Manage our horizon scanning and monitoring of the political, legislative and regulatory landscape in relation to the work of the Motability Foundation, leading on advising the business on actions we need to take.
• Provide sharp political intelligence, insight, advice and briefings for Governors, directors, senior management and a variety of audiences across the organization.

Your experience

Must haves:

We are looking for a Policy Officer within our Service Delivery Team. You will have demonstrable understanding of health and social care policy and related public policy developments in the UK, as well as an understanding of how policy decisions are influenced and made. You will have knowledge and experience of research and analysis relevant to health policy, as well as familiarity with and understanding of the core principles of both quantitative and qualitative research.

In this role, you will support the development and implementation of Picker's policy influencing strategy to make person centred health and social care a reality for everyone. You will be responsible for monitoring policy and political developments, promoting evidence-based policies to advanced person centred care and building and maintaining relationships within the health policy world.
