Your role

Church Mission Society is passionate about God’s mission and fired up to see more and more people become followers of Jesus. This role is to support the Diaspora Centre Lead in the design, delivery and teaching of the Asian Christianity pathway of our MA in Mission, Ministry, and Theology through Common Awards with Durham University.

We are looking for a proactive and talented person who has a background in theological or missiological studies. You will effectively teach and support students on the on Asian Christianity MA course. You will also tutor, supervise dissertations, mark assignments and support the Diaspora Centre to grow and recruit students to the best of your time and ability.   

The successful candidate will have proven experience of teaching students at graduate level with a theological or missiological qualification to PHD level. You will be confident in your ability to lead a small tutorial group, design assignments and curriculum, as well as working collaboratively. You will also have networking skills to promote the diaspora centre courses.

It is also a requirement for this post holder to be a committed and practising Christian, enthusiastic about the aims and values of CMS.

Student Advisor

We’re looking for someone with a passion for supporting and empowering others to join our collaborative and radically inclusive team at Exeter Students' Guild.

Our team of Student Advisors work to ensure that students are able to access free, independent and confidential advice on issues that affect their university experience, so that they are empowered to advocate for themselves, and to help students Love Exeter.

Students’ Union UCL is an organisation that exists to make more happen. About the role  

We’re looking for an Associate Director to provide senior leadership to student facing teams in the students’ union. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a competent team and provide cross-organisational stewardship with a team of senior leaders. You’ll be getting up to speed with our culture, organisational approaches in your first month or so alongside the person going on maternity leave. You’ll have a clear roadmap of what’s coming up and be given the freedom to make good decisions to respond to the context as it changes. There is good support around our senior leaders from the director team, external coaching is available to anyone who requests it, and there are well developed people, finance and compliance functions. We have requisite knowledge around the role to make this suitable for someone with transferrable skills from outside Students’ Unions and if you’re from Students’ Unions, you’ll be working alongside great people to bounce ideas and thoughts off. 

As an organisation, we’ve got a clear strategic framework, insight, people and values frameworks so your contribution will be to role model great behaviours and maintain excellent cross-directorate working. You’ll need to be able to pull different threads together and ensure our work is aligned to our strategy and values. You’ll be providing political advice to the elected student officers so being able to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and navigate others through it is important. 

You do not have to have worked in education, Students’ Unions or the third sector before. The person specification is clear we’re looking for leadership development skills and a navigating complex environments orientation. This is because there is a lot of interest and scrutiny on what our organisation does, our influencing environment, relationships with the university and programmes develop and evolve quickly. 

We recognise that we are looking for an experienced person (albeit without a sector knowledge requirement). If you have additional skills to bring to the role, we’d love to hear them. We’re open to discussing whether you want to work part time (minimum 0.6 FTE) alongside other freelancing work, so long as the outcomes and expectations are delivered to the required standard. Your responsibilities will focus around designing, delivering, evaluating, reporting and the continuous development of structured learning programmes for people with mental ill health. You will help shape the ongoing vision and goals of the Recovery College to ensure that future development of the service meets the needs of the people it supports. You will also participate in external forums, workshops and events to promote the work and ethos of Mind in Bexley.

Key Responsibilities

1. Make a positive contribution to the delivery of a thriving, innovative and effective Recovery College.

2. As part of the Recovery College team, deliver both face to face and online courses, workshops and groups according to curriculum requirements.

3. As required, design, deliver and evaluate courses, workshops and groups ensuring co-production at each stage.

4. Ensure effective learning takes place by using evidence based interventions, appropriate teaching methods and learning processes.

5. Demonstrate effectiveness by achieving high levels of student retention, measuring impact, increased involvement of participants and positive individual progress.

6. Contribute to the development of best practice within the service.

7. Undertake student assessments and regularly review individual progress.

8. Support individual students in setting learning goals and participating in workshops, courses and groups to ensure positive learning outcomes.

9. Keep accurate and up to date records of students including attendance, assessments, progress and impact measures.

10. Signpost and refer students to internal and external services when appropriate.

11. Ensure individual inclusion, accessibility and other needs are met.

12. Provide students with information and advice on further learning and progression opportunities including volunteering and support into employment

13. Participate in external forums, workshops, meetings and events to promote the work of the Recovery College and Mind in Bexley.

14. Keep up to date on local resources, facilities, training and recovery services.

15. Work effectively with peer facilitators and volunteers.

16. Work in partnership with team members, colleagues, professionals and other services.

17. Participate in induction, training, supervision and continual professional development.

18. See advice and support from line manager when needed.

19. Pay regard to materials and equipment.

20. Identify, report and monitor any safeguarding concerns or risk in accordance with the latest local procedures.

21. Keep informed of relevant legislation and guidance.

22. Adhere to Mind in Bexley and East Kent policies and procedures including (but not limited to) Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Confidentiality, Lone Working and Safeguarding.

23. Undertake any other duties and tasks which may be reasonably required, as discussed with line manager.
